Artist Exchange and Internship opportunity

Two-Week Internship in Sustainable Textile Methods

Date: flexible dates between June–August

Description: This internship will focus on sustainable methods for textile production. Artists will also develop and lead a skills training workshop to benefit the Wote community.

Program highlights include:

  • Natural dye training, hand-loom production, and hand screen printing with Marafiki Arts experts

  • Indigenous craft research with Kamba community

  • Project-based education and fieldwork with Kamba cotton and eri silk farmers

  • Contributing your skills to empower individuals in a social and economic development cause

Qualifications: MA, BA students or graduates in textile or sustainable design

Program Fee: No fee for participation. Internship includes accommodation, meals, and internship related local travel in and around Wote.

Employee-type: Full-time, four days a week, internship
