Lucy Has Worms is the remarkable story of Lucy Lau Bigham’s relentless commitment and vision to help women in a rural Kenyan community - one silkworm at a time. Over a three-year period, documentary film maker Gage Johnston and her collaborating partner Mark Weinstein, filmed and edited over 100 hours of footage to tell Lucy's story of how she’s dedicating her life to revitalizing her community by silk farming, spinning, and weaving. About Gage Johnston

Gage Johnston has been making films for the past 20 years, Lucy Has Worms is her most recent project. Her documentary, Chow Down, screened around the country and at numerous festivals. Other films have screened at Euro Underground, Clermont-Ferrand Short Film Festival, the Philadelphia Festival of World Cinema and opened the Philadelphia Museum of Art film series in 2006. Gage worked for Scribe Video Center in Philadelphia as a film and video instructor and as a facilitator of community-based projects such as Power to Change, which aired on season 12 of WYBE-TV’s, Though the Lens series. She also taught writing and production at Philadelphia’s University of the Arts. 

About Mark Weinstein

Mark Weinstein is an award-winning editor with a wide array of video productions with over 20 years of experience. While the majority of his work has been in the corporate video realm, he’s also completed work of documentaries, PSA’s commercials, a TV pilot and an independent feature film. In addition to editing, Mark has found himself on set on more than a few productions in various capacities including camera and sound.
